On September 19th, 2020, we hosted the 3rd annual and 1st virtual GPL Challenge. It included the morning programming competition session for middle/high school girls and the afternoon talk and panel discussion session given by academic and industrial female leaders in STEM area. The competition provided female students with the opportunity to solve algorithmic programming problems in a supportive environment for both beginning and experienced programmers. The keynote speech and panel discussion gave the participants insight into the current state of the STEM field from a female perspective. 223 girls from 92 middle/high schools across the country attended the event and 197 of them competed in the contest.
